Feline Panleukopenia virus is also called Feline Distemper or Feline Parvo. The names Feline Distemper and Feline Parvo should not be confused with Canine Distemper or Canine Parvo — although their names are similar, they are caused by different virus.
A-PET-CARE Feline Panleukopenia test for cats is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Feline Parvovirus (Feline Distemper) antigen (FPV Ag) in cat’s feces or vomit specimen. The test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When the cat’s sample is applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. If there is enough Panleukopenia antigen in the sample, a visible T line will appears. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. Meaning, the device can accurately indicate the presence of FPV antigen in the specimen.
The FPV test results are ready in 5-10 minutes.
