In some cases, it can lead to more serious conditions like bronchitis or pneumonia. It is more common in winter and can sometimes make asthma worse or cause wheezing, although not as often as RSV.
This test kit offers a quick and simple way to detect the virus, without needing special equipment or training like PCR tests. It uses a method called lateral flow immunochromatography to check for hMPV antigens (virus proteins) in nose or throat swab samples.
